The Kansas City Chiefs might be one of the biggest winners of the New York Giants' debacle. The Giants parted ways with head coach Brian Daboll after another tough loss, which dropped their record to 2-8 on the season. Despite that, he should instantly be considered as a potential replacement and upgrade over Matt Nagy.

However, he may not be the only coach the Chiefs could consider to help their offense. Mike Kafka will take the reins as interim head coach after Daboll's firing, but it's hard to believe the Giants will look to keep him around after this season.

The Chiefs Should Consider Bringing Mike Kafka Back

The New York Giants will most likely also part ways with GM Joe Schoen after another failed season. That will leave the door wide open for a change of regime, and if the Chiefs make a run at Daboll, he could bring his former offensive coordinator and associate head coach with him.

For years, Kansas City fans have questioned Matt Nagy's ability to get the best out of this group. The running game has been underwhelming to say the least, and while Andy Reid is in charge of play-calling, Nagy has failed to maintain the same standards from the Eric Bieniemy era.

That's where a duo like Daboll and Kafka could come in handily. Daboll didn't fare well as a head coach, but his offense was one of the best in the league during his tenure with the Buffalo Bills. That cannot be said of Kafka and his offense in New York. Despite that lack of success in the Big Apple, Kafka is still a familiar face in Kansas City, and he played an instrumental role in developing Patrick Mahomes as the team's quarterback coach and passing game coordinator.

Even if the Chiefs don't part ways with Nagy or hire Daboll in any position, a reunion with Kafka, now that he's more experienced, makes perfect sense. Also, while the numbers his offense produced may not have been great, it's worth noting that he was working with the version of Daniel Jones we saw with the Giants, followed by a rookie quarterback at the helm.

Other teams are always keeping tabs on the Chiefs for their own head coaching positions, and that will most likely be the case again with Steve Spagnuolo and Nagy. Andy Reid has never been the one to stand in the way of his assistants pursuing bigger opportunities. If that happens, Kansas City should have one of Coach Reid's former pupils on speed dial.
