Chiefs WR Rashee Rice had to be carted to the locker room in the first quarter against the Chargers after suffering an apparent knee injury.

After an errant pass from Patrick Mahomes was intercepted, Mahomes dove to make a tackle but mistakenly hit Rice's knee instead. It's a terrifying situation for Kansas City and unfortunately, the video replay looks like this could be a significant injury.

One of the best young receivers in the NFL, Rice has had a spectacular first three games of the season. If he's going to miss time, the Chiefs are in major trouble offensively.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Carted to Locker Room With Apparent Knee Injury

Rice was helped off the field and couldn't put weight on his leg on the sideline before being taken back to the locker room. Considering that Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Isiah Pacheco are injured, Kansas City's offense is suddenly thin.

The Chiefs are 3-0 pending Sunday's results, yet the entire fanbase is holding its breath waiting for news on the second-year star. Through three weeks, Rice had 24 catches for 288 yards and a pair of TDs, seemingly receiving the torch from Travis Kelce as the focal point of the offense.

If he is significantly hurt, Kansas City's chances to win a third straight Super Bowl will take a massive hit. Based on how Rice looked on the sidelines, this promising season may unravel.

Here's hoping that Rice is okay and the injury looked worse than it actually is.
