Top Chiefs Rival Among Reported Suitors for Davante Adams Trade

The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting in first place in the AFC West with a perfect record but things aren't looking as good for the rest of the division. In fact, things took a turn for the worse for the Las Vegas Raiders when their star receiver Davante Adams requested a trade earlier this week.

The Raiders then revealed that they were open to trading him and were considering trade packages. That is pretty much an official acknowledgment that the team isn't going anywhere. Despite sitting at 2-2, the Raiders preferred draft capital and future assets instead of their best offensive player.

Even though a division rival weakening may seem like good news for the Chiefs at first glance, that could change depending on where Adams lands. According to Ian Rapoport, the Buffalo Bills are among the suitors that the All-Pro receiver may be interested in.

"In fact, according to sources informed of Adams' thinking, he is open to playing for several other teams. The New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys and perhaps the San Francisco 49ers are among teams that either have inquired about the six-time Pro Bowler or are places Adams would be happy landing."

The Bills are once again the biggest challenger to the Chiefs in the AFC along with the Baltimore Ravens. They sit atop the AFC East with a 3-1 record and have looked good so far this season. On FanDuel Sportsbook, their +450 odds to make the Super Bowl is third only in the conference besides the Chiefs and the Ravens.

Buffalo already has the second-best offense in the league in terms of points through four games. The addition of a player of Adams' caliber will make things difficult for the Chiefs if they were to meet in the postseason.
