Top Chiefs Executive Set to Interview for Panthers' GM Role
By Joe Summers
Chiefs' Vice President of Football Operations, Brandt Tilis, is reportedly interviewing with the Carolina Panthers for the organization's newly-available general manager role.
Tilis interviewed for the role back in 2021 before the Panthers went with Scott Fitterer. That decision aged poorly.
Poaching Tilis would be a big boost for the Panthers, as he's helped orchestrate the golden era of Chiefs football. Here's hoping they go in a different direction again.
Chiefs News: Brandt Tilis to Interview with Panthers
Tilis has been with the Chiefs for 14 seasons in a variety of roles. He's consistently risen throughout the organization and is routinely listed as one of the top front office candidates across the NFL.
The Panthers are coming off a disastrous 2-15 season after mortgaging their future for QB Bryce Young and now must restart the rebuild with a new direction.
While they seem to have made a mistake in passing on Tilis in 2021, Carolina may rectify that decision.
He's not only the VP of Football Operations, but Tilis handles every contract negotiation as well. Make no mistake, the Panthers hiring Tilis would be a gigantic loss for the Chiefs. He deserves the opportunity, but selfishly, I'm hoping he's back in Kansas City in 2024.
