The Royals' flurry of offseason moves continued Thursday as the club traded veteran reliever Taylor Clarke to the Milwaukee Brewers.

In exchange, Kansas City brings two promising prospects to the organization in versatile infielder Cam Devanney and reliever Ryan Brady.

Royals Trade News: Team Acquires Two Prospects from Brewers

Clarke spent two seasons with the Royals, posting a 5.08 ERA over 105 appearances. Given the recent bullpen signings for Kansas City, moving on from Clarke makes a lot of sense.

These are two exciting prospects to get in return, as well. Devanney is 26-years-old and can play shortstop, third and second, giving him a valuable platoon ability. He has 34 home runs over the last two years between AA and AAA and draws walks at a high rate.

Brady, 24, posted a 2.69 ERA in 37 minor league appearances this year, utilizing a stellar slider and sweeper to fool batters and wrack up strikeouts.

This is the exact kind of low-cost, high-upside move the Royals need to make to field a competitive club over the next few seasons.

Overall, I'm impressed with J.J. Picollo and the front office to this point and can't wait to see what more moves are ahead.
