The Royals' broadcasting partner, Bally Sports, reportedly agreed to a deal with Amazon that'll see Prime Video become the new streaming home for Kansas City.

This is welcome news for Royals fans, like myself, who have struggled to watch the team over the last couple of seasons due to restricted access and it comes at the perfect time as the roster looks ready to compete as soon as this year.

Royals News: Games to Stream on Amazon Prime Video Following Bally Sports Sale

Diamond Sports, the parent company of Bally Sports, was facing bankruptcy and negotiated a deal to allow Amazon to become the streaming provider nationwide for direct-to-consumer packages.

Fans in these markets will have the opportunity to purchase access to games of home teams, ending a contentious few years for Royals fans who have struggled to watch the team.

The Royals' organization has yet to make an official announcement and it's unclear what additional steps fans may or may not need to take, though the landmark announcement is a major move for the future of sports streaming services.

We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available, though fans in Kansas City hoping to watch Bobby Witt Jr. and this promising roster should be thrilled about the news.
