Despite statistical success, Travis Kelce is enduring his most frustrating season in years.

He's dealt with multiple injuries and looks slower on the field, though he's still on pace for another 1,000-yard year as the Chiefs' most dependable pass-catching weapon.

Some are speculating the legendary tight end could retire at the end of the season, and fellow future Hall of Famer Rob Gronowski weighed in on Kelce's future.

Rob Gronkowski Shares Thoughts on Travis Kelce's Perceived 'Down' Year

For what it's worth, Gronkowski isn't buying the idea of Kelce's demise.

"Sometimes numbers will drop because it’s a team game," noted Gronkowsi. "He doesn’t really have that much help from the wide receiver position, but when you do see the ball in his hands, he looks like the same player he has been the last decade."

It's a fair point. Kelce's job is made harder by the struggles of his teammates, but he's still showcasing an impressive understanding of coverages and an ability to get open.

"The guy’s moving, he’s getting open, he’s making plays, he’s making defenders miss, he’s shaking off defenders to get open at the top of the routes," continued Gronkowski. "So (I) don't really see a drop-off at all."

That's music to Chiefs' fans ears heading into a critical Week 15 showdown with the Patriots. Here's hoping Kelce can prove his friend Gronk right.
