Chiefs WR Rashee Rice found himself in the middle of training camp drama at Monday's practice, getting into a brief scuffle with the defense after a completed pass.

Rice apparently threw the football at linebacker Jack Cochrane, known for instigating skirmishes with Travis Kelce last year, which led to some shoving and Drue Tranquill's helmet ultimately being ripped off.

The fight didn't last long before the team was back to practice, indicating there's nothing serious to worry about. Nonetheless, this kind of competitive fire helped fuel Kansas City in 2023 and could do the same with the organization attempting to win its third straight Super Bowl.

WR Rashee Rice Involved in Practice Skirmish With Defense

Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride noted Rice got sick on the sidelines after the incident, illustrating the difficulty of holding these training camp practices in the muggy St. Joseph heat.

Fights like these happen frequently and intense battles are almost an unwritten requirement at camp. If these players aren't frustrated after being saddled up in college dorms with intense weather conditions, they probably don't care enough. That's the idea anyway.

Rice's potential suspension is a dark cloud hanging over Chiefs' camp, though it's appearing less likely by the day that he'll face any punishment from the NFL this season. Should that prove accurate, Kansas City's offense should be among the league's deadliest.

He's fully engaged in training camp and planning to participate in the entire season. These practice skirmishes are just a nature of the environment, though it's still good to see some fire from one of the Chiefs' most important players given the drama surrounding him.
