The Kansas City Chiefs are back in camp as they prepare for an unprecedented three-peat. They have the dynamic trio of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid leading the way in 2024.

Despite being on the mountaintop back in February, it's been a disastrous offseason for the Chiefs. Rashee Rice was constantly in news cycles but for all the wrong reasons.

Back in March, Rice was arrested after a massive car accident and had charges that included aggravated assault and collision involving serious bodily injury. Right before the crash, he was traveling at more than 115 mph.

Although he hasn't been given a suspension just yet, it will likely drop sometime before the season. Things are continuing to trend in a bad direction for Rice and he needs to look over his shoulder after his latest practice.

Chiefs News: Rashee Rice Struggles in Practice

On July 22 in practice, Rice reeled in two passes but both led to fumbles.

Back in April, the Chiefs took WR Xavier Worthy in the first round and he's already starting to build a connection with Mahomes. In the July 21 practice, Mahomes rolled out left and uncorked a deep bomb that Worthy brought down for a deep touchdown.

As time progresses, Worthy and Mahomes' connection on the field will continue to grow. Especially since Rice will likely miss the beginning of the season due to a suspension.

People say the NFL stands means not for long and that is a statement that Rice should really think about.

If Worthy continues to thread in the right direction and cooks this summer, the SMU product may have his spot taken.

Rice was a major factor within the Chiefs offense last year and has the opportunity to build off that. But with his actions off the field left a nasty taste in the mouth of the Chiefs faithful, Worthy has a chance to swoop in and take over as one of the top pass catchers on the field. The Texas product just needs to focus on healing from a hamstring tweak and get back onto the field.
