Proposed L'Jarius Sneed Trade From Chiefs Insider is a Home Run

There has been a great deal of speculation around L'Jarius Sneed's contract situation after he was franchise tagged by the Chiefs. They'll either trade him or he'll play one more season before likely moving on and he's got plenty of suitors around the league.

Nate Taylor of The Athletic has a wild trade proposal that would be a no-doubt home run for Kansas City. The Indianapolis Colts are one of the reported suitors for Sneed, and Taylor said on his Time is Ours podcast that stud wide receiver Michael Pittman could be logical trade compensation.

Taylor noted that he was purely giving "educated speculation" and there's no imminent deal in place, but it's hard to imagine a better straight-up trade should Brett Veach decide he wants a player instead of draft compensation.

Pittman was also tagged and would instantly become the best receiver on the roster. A former second-round pick from 2020, Pittman caught 109 passes for 1,152 yards and four TDs despite an early-season injury to first-round QB Anthony Richardson, quickly establishing himself as one of the best WRs in the AFC after a dominant career at USC.

It would be bizarre for the Colts to move on from Pittman while trying to develop Richardson, though if they value Sneed highly it's a legitimate possibility.

He's excellent at making contested catches and would benefit from the attention defenses have to pay to Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice. There are quality receivers available in the draft, but Pittman is already an established star.

I'd be surprised if a deal like this ultimately comes to fruition. That being said, Taylor doesn't just say things for no reason, so there must be some sort of framework being discussed by the two teams.
