As the Chiefs prepare for a Week 2 battle against the hated Bengals, a possible trade target has suddenly emerged who could be the perfect final piece to Kansas City's three-peat puzzle.

All-Pro EDGE rusher Haason Reddick is unhappy with the Jets and new reports indicate New York could be forced to trade him despite having just acquired him from the Eagles this offseason.

Reddick is on the last year of his contract and is demanding a deal. However, he needs to play at some point to accumulate a season and be eligible for that contract. That's where the Chiefs could come into play and offer him a shot at a championship while rebuilding that value.

Chiefs Have Opportunity to Acquire All-Pro OLB Haason Reddick

Reddick has turned into a bit of a headache for his teams, but there's no denying his talent. He finished fourth in AP Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2022 with Philadelphia, notching 16 sacks in the process. With double-digit sacks in four straight seasons, Reddick is one of the league's premier pass-rushers.

Charles Omenihu is still on the shelf, and defensive line is an area that Kansas City could use some juice. Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, and Mike Danna are a formidable trio, though Reddick would instantly give the Chiefs the NFL's best line.

The Chiefs have roughly $6 million in cap space according to OverTheCap, with Reddick's current cap hit coming in at $750,000 despite a salary north of $14 million. It may require some salary cap gymnastics, but Brett Veach is certainly capable of pulling it off.

If Reddick is serious about playing this season, no team could offer a better combination of fit and legitimate Super Bowl aspirations. Kansas City has brought veterans in during the season before, so Reddick is at least worth making a phone call about to see what the asking price would be in a trade.
