Perfect Chiefs Reclamation Project Just Became Available
By Joe Summers
It's no secret Brett Veach and the Chiefs love a good reclamation project. The perfect next target may have just become available.
The New England Patriots are spiraling out of control and now a once-rising star in the secondary is looking for a new home. Kansas City is always looking for playmakers and Jack Jones could be the next savvy signing.
Here's the latest:
Why Chiefs Could Benefit From Patriots Releasing CB Jack Jones
Jones looked like a rising star as a rookie fourth-round pick for the Patriots last year, even earning Pro Football Focus' highest rookie grade for all defenders through 10 weeks.
Things obviously didn't go according to plan in 2023, but Jones represents the exact kind of player that the Chiefs could bring in and rejuvenate. He's a proven playmaker and physical tackler, making him a logical understudy to L'Jarius Sneed or Trent McDuffie.
For a team with perhaps the two best corners in the AFC, Jones would be similar to the dart throws Veach is so fond of. If it works, you found a diamond in the rough. If it doesn't, you barely spent any capital in the first place.
The Chiefs are becoming the old Patriots and it'd a fitting touch for Kansas City's latest reclamation project to be a newly-available potential star by way of New England.
