Patrick Mahomes Shelling Out Millions for New Football Project
By Joe Summers
Patrick Mahomes doesn't shy away from his love for Texas Tech and what the university meant to his development. He's now put his money where his mouth is, shelling out $5 million to support a $242 million renovation of the south end zone of Jones AT&T Stadium and the Dustin R. Womble Football Center.
The university will name a new walkthrough area in the Womble Football Center after him as a token of appreciation for the donation.
Mahomes spent three years as a Red Raider, passing for 11,252 yards and 93 TDs while adding 820 rushing yards and another 22 scores on the ground during his storied career.

During Mahomes' meteoric rise, the three-time Super Bowl MVP has always stayed true to his Texas roots. He routinely goes to cheer on the Red Raiders whenever possible and now his name will forever be etched into the stadium.
"There isn’t a greater ambassador for Texas Tech athletics than Patrick Mahomes," said Red Raiders coach Joey McGuire. "He is arguably the best brand in sports, not only for his success on the field but for what he and his family do off it."
Kansas City has seen Mahomes' tremendous impact on the community first-hand over the last half-decade. He's made the city a premier destination, complete with three championships to boot.
The greatest quarterback we've ever seen is also one of the best ambassadors we've witnessed. There's no doubt he'll continue to be as great of a leader off the field as he is on it.
