The Kansas City Chiefs have kickstarted their 2024 training camp on Tuesday with the rookies and quarterbacks reporting early. The rest of the roster will be there on Friday to officially launch the camp as we near the start of the new season.

Once again, all eyes will be on the Chiefs as Patrick Mahomes & Co. attempt a historic three-peat. In his statements to the press, Mahomes seemed already locked in as he sent a message to his teammates, most notably rookie receiver Xavier Worthy. According to Chiefs insider Matt Derrick, the 28-year-old quarterback said that Worthy needs to be "ready to go" on day one.

This is why Mahomes is the leader of the team. Eyes on the prize, he wants everyone locked in and focused on the ultimate goal, even if you are a 21-year-old rookie.

Xavier Worthy was one of the biggest additions of the Chiefs offseason. Drafted out of Texas with the 28th overall pick, Worthy was considered one of the fastest and most explosive receivers in his class. He is projected to start immediately next to Rashee Rice, and Marquise Brown to begin the season. Considering the fact that Rice is likely to miss some games due to suspension, Worthy will be thrown into the fire and will be expected to make an impact right away.

Improvement to the receiver corps was the most important need for the Chiefs this spring. They certainly accomplished that with the additions of Brown and Worthy, as well as re-signing Mecole Hardman in free agency. This much-improved unit will give Mahomes better options as the Chiefs hope for another Super Bowl win. On FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chiefs are co-favorites with the San Francisco 49ers at +600 to win it all next season.
