Patrick Mahomes' Playoff Stats Will Blow Chiefs Fans Away
By Joe Summers
Patrick Mahomes is working on the greatest start to a career in NFL history, winning four AFC Championship games in his first six seasons with the Chiefs as Kansas City gets set to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl here in 13 days.
The two-time Super Bowl MVP has now played 17 career playoff games and his stats will make even the most ardent Chiefs fans blush.
Make no mistake, we are witnessing the most talented player to ever step onto a football field.
Patrick Mahomes' Crazy Playoff Stats
By any measure, that would count as one of the most impressive individual seasons in NFL history. Nearly 5,400 total yards while completing over 67% of your passes with 44 TDs to just seven interceptions? Yeah, that'll play.
Mahomes isn't putting up the mind-boggling stats he did in his first MVP season anymore, but his game is as polished and efficient as ever.
Against Baltimore, Mahomes completed 76.9% of his passes for 241 yards and a TD, leading multiple long TD drives that milked the clock and prevented Lamar Jackson from getting in a rhythm.
The week prior, he averaged 9.3 yards per attempt with a pair of TDs against the Bills, and in the Wild Card win over the Dolphins he put up over 300 total yards in frigid temperatures.
Kansas City is blessed to watch Mahomes' career unfold. Perhaps in two week's time, we'll be planning our third parade and he'll be hoisting his third Super Bowl MVP trophy.
