New details have emerged in Rashee Rice's ongoing legal situation and while it's unclear what will happen with his eight criminal charges, it certainly seems like some sort of punishment will ultimately be decided.

The Chiefs' wide receiver was reportedly going 119 MPH in his rented Lamborghini moments before a six-vehicle crash that injured four people, including a three-year-old that is rendered to "limited mobility and eyesight" until treatment.

Here's the latest information on Rice's case:

Chiefs News: New Rashee Rice Details Emerge

Of the eight charges filed against Rice, two are felonies. Neither the NFL nor the Kansas City Chiefs have released official statements but have told reporters they're monitoring the situation and gathering facts.

Rice has hired prominent Texas attorney Royce West to defend him and responded to a warrant issued for his arrest in Dallas, turning himself in to authorities late Thursday evening.

It's not yet know what the resolution of the legal case will be or if Rice will face punishment from the NFL, though some sort of suspension feels likely at this point.

After emerging as a star for the Chiefs in his rookie season, Rice was expected to be a major part of the offense as Kansas City hopes to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

We'll continue to update you with new information on this developing story as it becomes available.
