Mel Kiper Makes Wild NFL Draft Prediction for Missouri Star Darius Robinson
By Joe Summers
Missouri star edge rusher Darius Robinson is flying up NFL draft boards after a fantastic showing at the Senior Bowl and ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. believes his meteoric rise isn't done yet.
The long-time NFL Draft expert thinks Robinson is one of the most impressive players in the entire class, so much so that he believes the 6'5", 296 LB defender could soar up to the top 10 when the draft gets underway.
Could the Tiger really be one of the first players off the board?
Missouri's Darius Robinson Could Be Top 10 Pick in NFL Draft
It's no secret that Robinson is one of the biggest winners of the last couple of months. In his final year at Missouri, he compiled 43 tackles with 8.5 sacks and a forced fumble, but scouts on hand at the Senior Bowl were blown away by his unique blend of power and speed.
He was first-team All-SEC this season despite battling injuries. With long arms and an explosive motor, Robinson destroyed the competition during his all-star practices, earning high praise from Pro Football Focus in the meantime.
He's currently 24th on Mel Kiper's big board from last week and 31st on Dane Brugler of The Athletic's, though it sounds like he'll continue to rise over the next few weeks.
As it stands, Robinson is in range for potentially even the Chiefs to draft, but that may not last longer. With Cody Schrader looking like a mid-round draft target himself, Tigers fans have two stars to cheer for throughout the process.
Both Robinson and Schrader will be in action at the NFL Combine next week. Keep a close eye on the reports, because if Robinson performs anything like he did at the Senior Bowl, then he'll be the talk of the town once again.
