Mecole Hardman has had quite a week in the news, initially revealing how urgently he wanted to get out of New York and back to Kansas City before now finding himself in a storm of allegations.

It was then reported that Jets players believed Hardman leaked their game plan prior to the regular season contest against the Chiefs. Even Sauce Garnder chimed in one twitter. Now, Hardman is responding.

Here's the latest social media response from Hardman:

Mecole Hardman Responds to Jets Cheating Allegations

He's understandably upset. Hardman is not currently under contract, though I surprise there's mutual interest in keeping the man who caught the game-winning Super Bowl TD here for a potential three-peat.

It's worth noting that Jets QB Zach Wilson had perhaps his finest performance of the season against the Chiefs, completing 28 of 36 passes for 245 yards and two TDs in a narrow loss, so any theoretical game-planning leaking couldn't have been particularly effective.

The Jets have hinted at filing tampering allegations into the Chiefs already due to Hardman's comments that he contacted Brett Veach and Patrick Mahomes before the acquisition. That being said, Hardman just texting and not engaging in any formal two-sided contract negotiation wouldn't be tampering anyway.

Kansas City's rivals seem to be growing by the day. If Hardman comes back to the team, it sounds like you can add the Jets to that list.
