L'Jarius Sneed's Pro Bowl Snub Has Officially Been Fixed
By Joe Summers
L'Jarius Sneed has been one of the very best defensive players in the NFL this year and certainly at the top of the list for most dominant cornerbacks, yet he was snubbed from both the All-Pro list and the initial Pro Bowl voting.
Thanks to Peyton Manning, that atrocity is now corrected. Manning is the AFC's coach in the Pro Bowl, and he announced Monday night he's using his one coach's invite to give Sneed the honor he deserves.
Congratulations, L'Jarius, you are officially a Pro Bowler!
Chiefs News: L'Jarius Sneed Officially Makes Pro Bowl
The Chiefs have the league's most dominant defense, as the only team yet to surrender 30 points in a game. They've routinely smothered opposing top receivers, and Sneed is at the heart of it all.
For him to not receive a Pro Bowl invite or an All-Pro nomination initially was a disgrace, so it's nice to see Sneed get the proper recognition from a legend like Manning.
Sneed finished the season with 78 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery with 14 deflected passes. Opposing QBs posted a paltry 56.2 passer rating when targeting Sneed, and no wide receiver found much success.
Of course, Sneed won't attend the Pro Bowl if the Chiefs are still playing. With a chance at a second consecutive Super Bowl win in reach, here's hoping that'll be the case.
