The Chiefs released their latest injury report late Thursday night and one surprising player was listed as a limited participant in practice.

Rising star WR Rashee Rice was a full participant on Wednesday but downgraded to limited on Thursday for apparent "ankles" injuries, an interesting note given that both legs seem to be bothering him.

There's no indication that he won't play on Sunday in the Super Bowl, but it's disconcerting to see him listed nonetheless.

On the bright side, Willie Gay Jr. was not on the report at all, so he'll be a full go after battling ailments throughout the postseason. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon were also limited, while Joe Thuney did not practice and remains a long shot to play.

While Rice's inclusion is concerning, reports indicate that he'll still be good to go against the 49ers.

As for the 49ers, George Kittle has been limited in practice all week. For all of these players battling nagging injuries, it's possible they flare up during the game, so we'll keep an eye on things prior to the big game.

The Chiefs are slight underdogs to the 49ers but have a special opportunity to win a second straight Super Bowl and their third in the last five years. It's an incredible time in Kansas City, and fingers crossed all of these guys will be at their best come Sunday.
