KC Police Gives Update on Super Bowl Parade Mass Shooting

Kansas City police chief Stacey Graves held a press conference Thursday morning regarding the tragic mass shooting during Wednesday's Super Bowl parade.
Three suspects have been detained, though charges have not yet been filed. The police can detain suspects for up to 24 hours before filing charges, though it remains to be seen if that will happen.
Graves announced there are now 23 victims, opposed to the 22 initially reported, with Lisa Lopez-Galvan of Johnson County

Of the three suspects, two of them are juveniles. Graves declined to answer whether the weapons used were legally acquired, though maintained the investigation is ongoing and we'll get updates concerning its progress in time.
When asked if celebratory parades would continue in future years, Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas pointed to the upcoming St. Patrick's Day parade and said he did not expect parades to end in the city.
Chiefs players have already taken to social media to express support for the community, though the city is understandably hurting.
With so many children injured and numerous more lives impacted, this tragedy leaves a horrible mark on the city. Police are still conducting interviews with witnesses and the FBI set up a website for tips for anyone who has any information.
