Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney found a new opportunity earlier this week, signing to the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad.

For Toney, he has an opportunity to make an immediate impact on a Cleveland offense that could use an additional playmaker next to Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy. However, he must impress on the practice squad and prove that he’s a different player from his short stint in KC.

That said, the former Chiefs wideout is already off to an uneven start in Cleveland. According to Scott Petrak of BrownsZone.com, Toney didn’t practice on Wednesday as he’s dealing with a minor injury.

NFL News: Kadarius Toney Missed Practice on Wednesday

Chiefs fans aren’t surprised to hear Toney missed practice due to injury as during last year’s Super Bowl run he was listed with hip and back injuries. At the time, the young wide receiver was upset about those injuries and went on an NSFW rant on Instagram.

Then this summer at training camp, Toney missed some time with a back injury, which forced him to miss the Chiefs’ preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Injuries have plagued Toney to start his NFL career as he’s only played in 32 out of a possible 51 regular season games since being drafted in 2021 by the New York Giants.

That said, this latest injury doesn’t help Toney in his quest to get promoted to the active roster. However, the hope is he’ll return to practice soon and start to show the skills that made him a first-round pick and why the Chiefs took a chance on him in 2022.
