John Sherman's Wife Makes Stunning Declaration on Royals Future
By Joe Summers
The biggest topic in Kansas City this week is the failed Question 1 initiative that would've extended a 3/8th-cent sales tax in Jackson County to help fund a new ballpark downtown and renovations to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Both teams are back to the drawing board, and talks are heating up that the two franchises synonymous with Jackson County could soon find new homes in Kansas or another Missouri county.
If you ask Royals Owner John Sherman's wife, it sounds like that's exactly what's going to happen.

In comments under a public Facebook post, Marny Sherman said, "Unfortunately neither team will work with Jackson County again. The lack of leadership has lost the city two treasured assets."
"We will be lucky if both teams wind up in Kansas," she continued.
This stands in stark contrast to Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas' comments, who confidently said that "both teams will be in KCMO in 2040 and long after."
Jackson County voters overwhelmingly voted against the Question 1 measure with a final margin of 16% of the vote going the no side. Kansas legislators are reportedly already beginning to make pitches to bring the teams across state lines, though Missouri representatives are hopeful a new deal can be reached.
No matter what happens, it's clear the ownership of both the Royals and Chiefs are reeling following the stunning loss. Both John Sherman and Clark Hunt were confident the measure would pass, though Jackson County voters shut it down in stunning fashion.
