The Kansas City Chiefs are now in their second week of training camp. The road to a third straight Super Bowl title starts now during these hot months of July and August.

Certain players use this time to make a statement and impress the coaching staff. Meanwhile, others continue to hurt their chances for the 2024 season.

The first preseason game will take place on Aug. 10 so these next few practices are going to turn up a notch.

In Wednesday's practice wide receiver Kadarius Toney appeared to suffer an injury.

Chiefs News: Kadarius Toney Suffers Longer Body Injury in Practice

According to Nate Taylor of the Athletic, Toney was in a one-on-one rep against Chris Oladokun and attempted to leap up to grab a downfield pass. He was hit by DJ Miller while attempting to snag the pass and seemed to suffer an injury to his lower body.

He was seen shortly after going to the medical tent and then headed in the front of the cart to go back inside.

This is especially tough news considering the recent reports around Toney playing a surprisingly big role in the Chiefs' offense in training camp.

He was also shaken up in the first practice this summer after he missed all of the 2023 training camp with a knee injury.

Hopefully, this isn't anything serious for his sake. He needs every rep out there so he can be trusted once the live bullets come rolling out in September.

It's been a rough two years for Toney in Kansas City. In 20 games, he's only logged 41 receptions for 340 yards, and three touchdowns. He's had moments of being benched, calling out the team on social media, and you can't forget about the drops.

This is just the latest hurdle in the Toney era in Kansas City.
