Falcons Announce Anthem Singer vs. Chiefs in Week 3 Sunday Night Football
By Jovan Alford
Before the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons face off on Sunday Night Football at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to wrap up Sunday’s Week 3 slate, fans will be waiting patiently to see who will be singing the National Anthem.
According to Arrowhead Addict, the National Anthem singer for tonight’s primetime contest will be Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Kandi. Kandi aka Kandi Burress was a part of the outstanding ’90s R&B group Xscape. She’s also from Atlanta, Georgia, making this a special moment for tonight’s game.
Most fans know Kandi from her music career, but others know her as a reality TV star on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Along with her excellent music career as a singer and songwriter, Kandi has expanded her portfolio as an entrepreneur.
With the Falcons coming off an incredible win on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, their crowd will be hyped up after Burress sings the National Anthem. Therefore, it will be up to Patrick Mahomes and Co. to quiet down the Falcons’ crowd as this is the Chiefs’ first road game this season.
Kansas City has started the season with two consecutive wins over AFC rivals, the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. Meanwhile, Atlanta is 1-1 on the young season, with a home loss in Week 1 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mahomes and the Chiefs hope to hand Kirk Cousins and Co. their second-straight home loss as Kansas City tries to stay perfect in 2024.
