Juan Soto is one of the biggest stars in baseball and the Royals have reportedly added an executive that helped bring Soto to the Washington Nationals.

Johnny DiPuglia, who formerly served as the international director of scouting for Washington, is joining Kansas City in a currently undisclosed role.

He confirmed the story with The Kansas City Star though did not state what his official role will be.

Royals News: Organization Adds Nationals' Executive with Juan Soto Ties

According to The Kansas City Star, "DiPuglia held multiple roles within the Nationals organization. He oversaw the Nationals’ international operations and also served as vice president and assistant general manager following the 2019 World Series."

DiPuglia was named Major League Baseball's international scout of the year in 2019, bringing years of experience and an obvious talent to the Royals' organization.

The move is another signal of Kansas City's intent to compete and surround the front office with strong baseball minds with proven track records.

I'm excited about Royals baseball and the direction the franchise is moving. This overhaul was much needed and it's beautiful to see.
