It's that time of year for football fans. After months and weeks of speculation, the NFL Draft is going to get underway in the Motor City. On April 25 at 8 p.m. ET, the first round will officially get started and teams look to bolster their rosters.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going for a three-peat in 2024 but they have some holes on their team. The biggest need is at wide receiver, especially with Rashee Rice expected to miss time.

ESPN's Jordan Reid laid out a seven-round mock draft and has the Chiefs moving up to snag a WR.

Chiefs Rumors: ESPN Proposes Kansas City Moving Up in Round 1 to Pick a WR

In his mock draft, the Chiefs are trading up with the Dallas Cowboys. They are giving up picks 32, 95, and 159 to jump up to pick 24.

ESPN Proposed Round 1 Draft

In this scenario, the Chiefs move up eight spots and select Texas WR Adonai Mitchell. The Texas native is one of the most athletically gifted playmakers in this draft class.

Mitchell (6'2) is a lengthy but loose athlete. He has fluid releases off the line with the body control to rise up and bring down those contested catches. Mitchell does need to mature a bit and doesn't give an all-out effort when run blocking.

Despite that, Mitchell would provide a massive spark to the Chiefs' aerial attack. He didn't produce much at the University of Georgia from 2021-22 (560 yards & seven touchdowns in 21 games) but took off at Texas last season. Mitchell racked up 55 receptions for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Longhorns.

He has all the tools needed to excel at the next level. Putting him in an offense with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid could spell nightmares for teams around the team.

It's no surprise that the Chiefs want to address wide receiver. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, wide receiver is the clear favorite at -120 to be the first position selected by the Chiefs.
