The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with significant injuries to key offensive weapons including Isiah Pacheco and Hollywood Brown. They added Kareem Hunt to address the need for more playmaking but they might be getting even more additional help.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who was placed on the non-football injury list before the start of the season may have teased his looming return on social media. Edwards-Helaire is ineligible to play until Week 5 at the earliest but his social media post has Chiefs fans excited for his comeback.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Sends Cryptic Message on Social Media

The post is admittedly cryptic. The caption only includes the numbers 22 and 5. 22 was Edwards-Helaire's jersey number during his college days. 5 could be referring to his return date.

It could also mean something totally unrelated but it was still enough to build excitement among the fanbase.

The Chiefs had placed the running back on the NFI list after he missed several training camp practices due to an illness. Edwards-Helaire has been struggling with PTSD since a 2018 incident when he was at LSU. He has had flare-ups throughout his NFL career and this was rumored to be one of those times.

Carson Steele and Samaje Perine will get the majority of the workload in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons. Keaontay Ingram was elevated and he could get a few reps. Kareem Hunt will likely start getting involved starting Week 4.

Then, things will get interesting if Edwards-Helaire returns in Week 5. How the next two weeks go for the running back unit will decide who gets bumped out of the rotation once the veterans, including Pacheco, make their eventual returns.
