Clyde Edwards-Helaire Takes Biggest Step Yet Toward Chiefs Return
The Kansas City Chiefs are currently 4-0 as they head into Week 5. Even though they are undefeated, they have dealt with constant injuries. The latest one came to receiver Rashee Rice, who is still undergoing tests on his knee.
Meanwhile, at running back, there has been constant shuffling. Isiah Pacheco fractured his right fibula in Week 2 and was placed on IR.
That has led to the Chiefs bringing Kareem Hunt back to town but they also just got some positive news on Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Chiefs News: Chiefs Opened Clyde Edwards-Helaire's Practice Window
According to the NFL transaction wire, Kansas City has opened up Edwards-Helaire's window to practice with the team.
He will have the next three weeks to practice before the team reaches the deadline to activate him or shut him down for the season.
The LSU product revealed that he was dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder this summer. He had symptoms of nausea and vomiting, which led to him being placed on the NFI list.
Getting his mind right was the No. 1 priority, but now it appears he's close to returning to the field. The 25-year-old was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He provides the team with a dual-threat weapon, and the Chiefs could use him this season.
In 48 career games with Kansas City, Edwards-Helaire has compiled 1,845 rushing yards, 765 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns.
He'll use the next couple of weeks to ramp up and potentially help a Chiefs offense that needs playmakers badly.
