Chris Jones Hints at Potential Reunion with Former Chiefs Star
By Joe Summers
If Chris Jones is to be believed, the Chiefs may soon reunite with their all-time leading postseason sack leader.
Frank "The Shark" Clark hasn't made an impact after signing a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos in the offseason and his recent tweets suggest he's unhappy in his new home.
Never one to let sleeping sharks lie, Jones sprang into action on Twitter to recruit his former running mate.
Chris Jones Wants Frank Clark on the Chiefs
Jones and Clark were a formidable pass-rushing duo for Kansas City, especially in the postseason. Frank ranks third all-time in postseason sacks (13.5) and a return to the Chiefs could help give him the 2.5 sacks he needs to break the NFL record.
It's well-reported that Clark and Andy Reid are close, with Clark even comparing Reid to a father figure in the past.
Clark only played in Week 1 so far this season, accumulating two tackles for a Broncos team in complete disarray. A reunion makes sense for all parties, as you can never have too many quality pass rushers.
If Brett Veach acquires Clark, the Chiefs would once again have one of the league's most fearsome defensive lines. Jones has 4.5 sacks already in just four games while George Karlaftis has taken a leap and Felix Anudike-Uzomah is showing promise.
Adding Clark to the mix would not only reunite Jones with his running mate but would give Kansas City another dependable body at a position where depth is critical.
We'll see if Veach makes a move for The Shark, but Chiefs fans can officially consider it a distinct possibility thanks to Jones' public recruitment.
