Chiefs Solve WR Problem in ESPN NFL Mock Draft
By Joe Summers
Reinforcements are on the way, at least according to the latest NFL mock draft from ESPN NFL Insider Matt Miller.
In a mock draft released Tuesday morning, the Chiefs add a dynamic playmaker at WR with absurd physical traits that would serve as a huge boost to the offense.
Folks, this would be a fantastic draft haul for our Chiefs.
Mock Draft Gives Chiefs Texas WR Adonai Mitchell
Miller has the Chiefs drafting Texas WR Adonai Mitchell, a 6'4", 200 LB transfer from Georgia. He's a freak athlete, with the kind of skillset that Kansas City's current receiver room sorrowly lacks.
Mitchell caught 51 passes for 813 yards and 10 TDs, critically dropping just one pass all season. Given the Chiefs currently lead the NFL in drops with limited explosive plays, this would be a slam-dunk pick for Chiefs Kingdom.
He caught seven more TDs in two years at Georgia, winning a national championship in both seasons. With the Longhorns in the College Football Playoff, Mitchell could win three consecutive championships on two different teams.
According to Miller's mock, Mitchell would be the eighth receiver drafted, after Marvin Harrison Jr. (Cardinals), Malik Nebors (Bears), Keon Coleman (Saints), Rome Odunze (Steelers), Xavier Worthy (Buccaneers), Xavier Legette (Jaguars), and Brian Thomas Jr. (Lions).
In a rich WR draft, even taking the eighth on the board would give the Chiefs a dependable playmaker capable of scoring on any given snap.
Fingers crossed the actual Chiefs' first round pick brings as much excitement as Mitchell would.
