The Chiefs wrapped up an excellent 2024 NFL Draft, seemingly nailing every selection they had available. Now, the organization's attention turns to undrafted free agents and Brett Veach is already hard at work.

Many expected Kansas City to take a running back near the latter portion of the draft, but Veach looked in other directions instead. He wasted no time in finding a potential Jerick McKinnon replacement, signing TCU running back Emani Bailey to an undrafted free agent contract immediately after the seventh round concluded.

Bailey has an underwhelming athletic profile but could positive contribute to the roster long-term. Nonetheless, he's a worthy dart throw.

At only 5'7", 202 LBs, Bailey is undersized but has impressed when given the opportunity. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry as a senior at TCU, compiling 1,209 rushing yards on 223 carries with eight TDs.

Bailey is an effective weapon out of the backfield as well, averaging 7.4 yards per catch as a receiver in 2023.

He faces an uphill climb towards making the roster but could serve as a practice squad weapon either way. Given that Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire are the only two backs guaranteed spots on the roster, there's an avenue for Bailey to make a surprise impact.

We'll see what happens moving forward, but at least Brett Veach is ensuring the front office has options.
