Week 2: Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday, September 15

The Chiefs will have a mini bye week before facing off against the Cincinnati Bengals at home in Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, and this should be yet another really fun matchup in the early portion of the season as a whole.

NFL fans were robbed of Joe Burrow last season as the former #1 overall pick suffered a ligament injury in his thumb. Burrow is back this season, blond, buzzed, and last I checked, his bank account is still ridiculously full.

And the Bengals didn't trade away Tee Higgins, despite some rumors that he might be on the move, so Burrow also has a full complement of receivers to get the ball to, one that includes potential breakout player Andrei Iosivas in place of departed free agent Tyler Boyd.

The Bengals no longer have Brian Callahan calling plays offensively, but that unit isn't expected to take any steps back because of his departure. They are going to be coming into Kansas City where they have had success in the past, and this game is going to be "personal" for the Chiefs as they're not soon to forget any of the "Burrow-head" comments made in regards to Joe Burrow having had success on their home field in the past.

While the Bengals certainly have the talent to go toe-to-toe with Kansas City in a head-to-head matchup, even playing on the road, I'm going with the safe choice here and taking the Chiefs at home to get off to a 2-0 start.

Prediction: Chiefs win 31-27
