The Chiefs are rightly recognized as the best team in the NFL and a new list honoring the top 100 players in the NFL reflects Kansas City's excellent roster.

CBS Sports has seven Chiefs players on the list, the second-most of any team in the league. You could even argue the team had a couple of snubs, though it's obvious Kansas City is loaded with talent regardless.

Patrick Mahomes is No. 1 and guys like Travis Kelce and Chris Jones are rated highly as well.

Chiefs Dominate CBS Sports' "Top 100 NFL Players of 2024" List

Jones was No. 14 and the highest-ranked defensive tackle, while Kelce was close behind at No. 18 as the top tight end. Trent McDuffie came in at No. 30 as the third cornerback, Creed Humphrey led all centers at No. 48, Joe Thuney was the third guard at No. 86 and Trey Smith rounded out the Chiefs' nominations at No. 90 as the fourth guard.

That's a star-studded list and all of these players are worthy of recognition. I'd make an argument for Justin Reid, Drue Tranquill, George Karlaftis, and Nick Bolton, but it's tough to find what players to replace.

Humphrey, Thuney, and Smith all being recognized as elite confirms the Chiefs have one of the NFL's best offensive lines, This is a team built to dominate en route to a run at a third straight Super Bowl.

The 49ers landed nine players on the list, the only team to have more than the Chiefs.
