Chiefs News: Five Players Make Pro Bowl Despite Notable Snubs
By Joe Summers
The tally is in and five Kansas City Chiefs have made the Pro Bowl. However, only one defensive player could represent the Chiefs should the team not make the Super Bowl.
Given the storylines of the season are centered around how much the defense is carrying the offense, this feels disrespectful to Steve Spagnuolo's unit.
Four offensive players received the honor, but only Chris Jones was elected to represent the defense.
Chiefs Defense Wildly Disrespected in Pro Bowl Votes
QB Patrick Mahomes, TE Travis Kelce, C Creed Humphrey and G Joe Thuney all made the Pro Bowl for the offense, while DT Chris Jones made it for the defense.
How on Earth is there no L'Jarius Sneed or Trent McDuffie on this list? I understand George Karlaftis being left off, given the wealth of stellar pass rushers, but Sneed's exclusion, in particular, is insane.
Sneed has been the best cornerback in the NFL this season. He deserves to be First Team All-Pro, let alone a darned Pro Bowler.
This just might be the fuel the defense needed to smother opposing offenses on a playoff run. Congratulations to the offensive players that made the list, though the NFL may have just woken up the wrong defense.
