The Chiefs are getting set for their first divisional matchup of the season in Week 4, traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers, and the injuries are already piling up for Jim Harbaugh's squad.

Justin Herbert is already suffering from an aggravated high-ankle sprain though at this point, he could still play. Making matters worse for the Chargers, star rookie RT Joe Alt has an MCL sprain and will not participate. Throw in injuries to LT Rashawn Slater and DE Joey Bosa on top of S Derwin James' one-game suspension, and suddenly Los Angeles could be missing five of the team's best players.

Considering the difficult opening stretch of games for the Chiefs, this Sunday's matchup could be a breath of fresh air.

Chargers Lose RT Joe Alt to Injury Before Chiefs Game

The Chargers are off to a 2-1 start under Harbaugh. They've been impressive, embracing a physical, run-first mentality that's relied heavily on RB J.K. Dobbins. It's worked, but the Chiefs are a different kind of beast.

If Los Angeles is actually down all five players, it's hard to imagine them keeping up with Kansas City. Even if Herbert plays, he'll likely be limited and have a depleted offensive line blocking him.

It's easy to imagine Chris Jones and George Karlaftis having a field day rushing the young passer, and Patrick Mahomes should have an easier time without James in the middle of the field.

We'll see what happens on injury reports throughout the week. Right now, it looks like the Chiefs will have a significant health advantage on Sunday, hoping to improve to 4-0 against a battered opponent.
