The Chiefs look set to cruise through Week 18 against the Chargers to prepare for the playoffs, planning to rest a number of critical players on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes has already been ruled out for the contest, though now four other players have joined him on the injury report.

Find out what players are out below.

Chiefs Injury Update: Four Players Ruled Out vs. Chargers

Rashee Rice, Donovan Smith, L'Jarius Sneed and Kadarius Toney have all been ruled out, according to Andy Reid's comments at media availability on Friday.

None of these absences are surprising. Smith and Toney have been out for weeks while Rice and Sneed are two of the most important players on the roster.

Resting them all makes sense, especially if this team has Super Bowl aspirations.

The Chiefs will be the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs no matter what happens on Sunday. Getting through the playoffs healthy is the most important objective - resting these players is a defensible, correct decision.
