Despite rampant, unfounded speculation circulating the last month or so about Andy Reid potentially retiring this offseason, a recent report indicates it's more likely that the Super Bowl head coach receives an extension and a raise instead.

Regardless of Sunday's Super Bowl results, it sounds like Reid is sticking around for the long haul to continue his winning ways with Patrick Mahomes.

Here are the latest reports:

Chiefs Rumors: Andy Reid Extension Could be Coming After Super Bowl

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, "an extension is more likely than retirement heading into Reid's fifth Super Bowl appearance. Reid, one of the winningest coaches of all time, is in line to get a raise almost no matter the outcome of Sunday night's game."

That's welcome news to Chiefs fans concerned that the league's oldest coach could consider hanging it up, but it sounds like Reid's love of the game and the possibility of winning more championships with Mahomes are huge factors here.

Reid has a legitimate chance to go down as the greatest coach of all-time, especially if he gets his third Super Bowl win tonight.

Jones notes that Reid is currently the 10th-highest paid coach in the NFL, making him grossly underpaid. No matter what happens, a raise is certainly expected.

Let's hope an extension comes along with it.
