The Chiefs' issues at wide receiver have been a consistent issue throughout the season and while Rashee Rice looks like a budding star, it's obvious Kansas City needs to address the position in the offseason.

ESPN's Mel Kiper released his first 2024 NFL Mock Draft Tuesday and he's got the Chiefs taking Oregon star Troy Franklin at pick No. 29.

The 6'3" speedster would bring a dynamic element to the Chiefs. He caught 81 passes for 1,383 yards and 14 TDs this season as one of the most productive receivers in the entire country.

As Kiper writes, "Franklin averaged 17.1 yards per catch in 2023 and had 23 receiving touchdowns over the past two seasons. He is a big, 6-foot-3 target with deceptive speed who can break tackles after the catch."

Pairing Franklin with Rice would give the Chiefs two excellent young receivers to build around. Whether Franklin is the choice or not, it's obvious Brett Veach needs to be aggressive in rebuilding the receiving corps after laboring through this year.

With so many talented players coming out of college for the draft, the Chiefs will have every opportunity to land a true difference-maker.
