The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 after the first month of the season. Despite the undefeated record, the Chiefs have dealt with a flurry of injuries.

The latest one came to wide receiver Rahsee Rice, who suffered a knee injury in the Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs haven't officially diagnosed Rice even though they placed him on injured reserve. With that being said, he'll undergo a knee scope early this week to see the significance of the damage, and after that, they'll create a recovery plan.

But there is some hope among league circles.

Chiefs News: Rashee Rice Might Not Miss Entire 2024 Season

ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote an article on Sunday discussing Rice and the Chiefs plans at wide receiver. There he provided a positive timeline for Rice to return to the field if everything comes out well from his knee procedure.

"There remains hope that Rice could return this season and be sidelined six to eight weeks, according to league sources, but nothing will be determined until early next week at the earliest. It is difficult to know how realistic it is that Rice could return this season, although the Chiefs have not given up hopes of that possibility yet."

The fact that the Chiefs haven't ruled out Rice for the season means they have some hope.

The SMU product was off to a hot start in 2024. He ranked first on the team in targets (29), receptions (24), receiving yards (288), and receiving touchdowns (2).

The Chiefs will badly miss his presence on the field, but if there's a chance he can return in 2024, Kansas City will take that happily. And so would Rice.

But to make things clear, nothing will be known until Rice gets his knee scoped, so we'll have to wait and see.
