The Chiefs are 3-0 and once again look like the best team in the NFL, though their undefeated start hasn't come without issues. Kansas City's offense hasn't hit its stride, in large part due to star TE Travis Kelce's struggles.

While the team is in the driver's seat for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, fans are officially terrified about Kelce's minimal output. He had his best game of the year in Week 3, catching four passes for 30 yards, yet his production has been a far cry from the levels we're used to.

As a result, some fans are panicking and wonder if we're finally seeing the decline of the legendary future Hall of Famer.

Travis Kelce's Underwhelming Production Has Chiefs Fans Scared

Through three games, Kelce has just eight catches for 69 yards and no TDs. His connection with Patrick Mahomes is one of the biggest reasons the Chiefs have three Super Bowl wins in the last five years, yet Rice has become the offense's top target.

After the game, Mahomes told reporters that opponents are blanketing Kelce and preventing him from getting open. That makes sense, though it's hardly a new development. What is new, however, is how much that extra attention is stopping Kelce from putting up numbers.

There's plenty of time for Kelce to turn things around. He had a mediocre year (by his standards) in the regular season in 2023 before exploding in the playoffs, so we know he's still capable of taking over a game when necessary.

Either way, it's clear that he's no longer the spring chicken that rattled off seven straight 1,000-yard seasons en route to being recognized as the best tight end to ever play. In order for this team to reach its full potential, Kelce's production has to improve.

Kansas City remains undefeated with matchups against the Chargers and Saints on deck before a bye week. Here's hoping Kelce gets rolling sooner rather than later.
