Chiefs Engaged in Bidding War for Top Free-Agent WR
The Kansas City Chiefs have won two straight Super Bowl titles and have their sights on going for three in a row but every team needs to improve the roster over the offseason. The Chiefs are no exception but they are focused on the offensive side of the ball.
Kansas City's pass catchers struggled immensely in 2023 and the Chiefs are looking to bring in more reliable difference-makers. Earlier in the offseason, the Chiefs released WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
With free agency kickstarting this week, Kansas City hopes to find upgrades on the market and they are reportedly interested in bringing in former Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd but they are in a bidding war with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets.
Chiefs Rumors: Kansas City in Bidding War for Tyler Boyd
Since entering the league in 2016, Boyd has been a consistent playmaker for the Bengals. He is a crisp route runner with strong hands at the catch point.
Boyd has a knack for creating separation and could be a nice weapon in an offense consisting of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. But first, they may need to pony up some more money to bring him to town.
Across his eight-year career, Boyd has reeled in 513 receptions for 6,000 yards and 31 touchdowns, including two seasons with north of 1,000 receiving yards.
In 2023, the Chiefs led the NFL in drops with 44 and Boyd would significantly help that number decrease.
Kansas City owns one of the best teams in the league and has a great shot of reaching Super Bowl LIX. They currently have the second-best odds in the NFL to win the whole thing at +600. Head over to FanDuel Sportsbook, claim your sign-up bonus, and take advantage of these odds to back the Chiefs.
