The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for an AFC showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.

They started off the 2024 season on a good note, outlasting the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 in the home opener to start the year off 1-0.

The vibes were good throughout the week but on Saturday, the Chiefs were slammed with a massive fine for some sideline antics in Week 1.

Chiefs News: Kansas City Was Hit with 100K Fine

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs organization was fined $100,000, and tight end Peyton Hendershot was hit with a $5,472 fine for the sideline shove on Baltimore linebacker Roquan Smith.

In the fourth quarter, quarterback Patrick Mahomes ran out of bounds on the Chiefs sideline but was pushed in the back by Smith. The two-time MVP fell to the ground but no flags were thrown.

Hendershot, who was inactive, came to his quarterback's defense and gave Smith a little push.

The Georgia product made note of that and called out Hendershot after the game.

"Whoever 88 is, I don't know who he is, but he better watch himself. He did a little slick push. I'll see him when I see him."

That little push got Hendershot fined, as the NFL has cracked down on inactive players and other sideline personnel getting involved in some disagreements between active players.

The 25-year-old tight end plans to appeal the fine but who knows how that will pan out.

Regardless of securing the win, the Chiefs have to come out of pocket and hand over a large sum of change to the league. And that is something they'll remember the next time they square off against the Ravens.
