The Chiefs got a big update on several key players' injury status on Friday with the final practice beore Kansas City takes on the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.

LG Joe Thuney, LB Willie Gay Jr., WR Skyy Moore, and DT Derrick Nnadi all were not practicing, and there are significant questions about all four's availability this weekend.

On the bright side, RB Isiah Pacheco did return to practice following a toe injury and should be good to go, though there's speculation about a potentially reduced workload.

Chiefs Injury News: Updates on Five Players

Pacheco has been a dominant offensive player for the Chiefs. He's scored in six consecutive games and I'm expecting a big performance from him once again, though it'll be more difficult if Thuney can't suit up.

Thuney is, by any advanced metric, the Chiefs' best offensive lineman. If he doesn't play, fifth-year former seventh-round pick Nick Allegretti is expected to draw the start.

Considering the Chiefs face an excellent defensive front in the Ravens', that would be a big loss for Kansas City.

Defensively, Willie Gay Jr.'s status is one all of Chiefs Kingdom should pay close attention to. He's the best linebacker at spying opposing quarterbacks, and it's no surprise Josh Allen was effective on the ground in the Divisional Round once Gay Jr. went out.

Should Gay Jr. not play, we'll need Nick Bolton and Drue Tranquill to step up in a big way to help contain Lamar Jackson, who is easily the most dynamic quarterback in the NFL.

We'll keep you updated prior to Sunday on who will be active and inactive, though fingers crossed Thuney and Gay Jr. are able to play in the massive game.
