It's been a whirlwind of Chiefs injury news these last two weeks.

We've dealt with injuries to Isiah Pacheco, Drue Tranquill, Donovan Smith, Jerick McKinnon, Kadarius Toney and Bryan Cook, just to name a handful. While Pacheco and Tranquill are back in action this week, it seems the Chiefs may be missing several key contributors.

Chiefs Injury News: Several Key Players Not Practicing

Edwards-Helaire seems likely to play, given his absence was excused, though Jones, Smith, McKinnon and Toney's respective absences are a bit of a surprise.

There was confidence Smith could return this week, but rookie Wanya Morris feels likely to draw the start now instead.

At running back, Kansas City might consider calling up a practice squad player to add some depth. Pacheco hasn't played in two weeks and if McKinnon misses the game, the Chiefs will be rather thin at the position.

For Toney, the absence is unfortunate given the tumultuous few weeks he's endured. I was hopeful he'd get back on the field and showcase his ability, as I still believe in him, but he needs to play for that to happen.

We'll see what comes from the injury reports prior to Monday's game, though I wouldn't be optimistic about McKinnon, Smith or Toney's statuses.
