5. MarShawn Lloyd - RB, USC (Pick 157)
I fully expect Veach to use one of the Chiefs' late-round picks to add some depth behind Isiah Pacheco. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is likely gone while Jerick McKinnon is aging and injury prone, and Lloyd would be the perfect compliment to Pacheco's aggressive rushing style.
Lloyd averaged 7.1 yards per carry and 17.8 yards per catch for the Trojans this year, showcasing excellent elusiveness and adept pass-catching skills out of the backfield.
Of draft eligible RBs with over 60 carries and at least 5 receptions, Marshawn Lloyd is:

- 1st in Breakaway % (56.7)
- 1st in PFF’s Elusive Rating (177.0)
- 2nd in Rushing Missed Tackles Foreced/Attempt (0.41)
- 2nd in Total Missed Tackles Forced/Attempt (0.47) pic.twitter.com/X2zybkcMKU
Just like Pacheco and even Kareem Hunt before him, Lloyd is one of the best in the country at breaking tackles. He's got great patience as well and an understanding of blocking schemes, putting those skills to work with regularity.

Even if he just serves the Edwards-Helaire role before ultimately moving into the McKinnon one in the receiving game, Lloyd is the kind of talent I want on my football team. Should Pacheco miss time like he did this year, this is the type of player that could handle a full workload as well.
While I considered taking an offensive lineman here, I prefer the upside of Lloyd's game-changing ability and impressive profile.
