Chiefs 7-Round NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Solidifying the Dynasty
By Joe Summers
2. Ricky Pearsall - WR, Florida (Pick 64)
Ricky Pearsall has been one of the biggest risers in the pre-draft process at the WR position after running a blazing 4.41 40-yard dash while showcasing exciting measurables and adept route-running ability.
After averaging 20 cards per catch in 2022, Pearsall caught 65 passes for 965 yards (14.8 yards per catch) with four TDs at Florida in 2023. His sure hands and proficient separation would give Kansas City a strong foundational piece at the position, especially as a complement to Travis Kelce, Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice.
Pearsall's film is filled with great catches and ball-tracking. After the Chiefs led the NFL in dropped passes (44) and struggled to track deep balls from Patrick Mahomes, Pearsall would inject a breath of fresh air into the offense.
It's possible he'd be the best on the team at making contested catches from day one. He showed a knack for creative route-running and going off-script too, which we already know Mahomes has made legendary by improvising with Kelce.
After locking in a potential franchise tackle in round one, snagging a reliable contributor like Pearsall at a position of need in round two would be a home run.
