Aiming to become the first team ever to win three Super Bowls in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs enter 2024 on a mission. They haven’t sat idly by either as they were aggressive in upgrading key positions on their roster this offseason.

The most noticeable change happened at wide receiver where they signed Marquise Brown in free agency and used a first-round pick on the new 40-yard dash king, Xavier Worthy.

While that will help in their quest for a three-peat, their roster overall is as deep as any. That's why it’s not easy to predict their initial 53-man roster but that’s the goal here.

Quarterback (2): Patrick Mahomes, Carson Wentz

There’s no one better at quarterback right now than Patrick Mahomes. The 10th overall pick in 2017 has quickly established himself as the standard to chase and he’s the reason this team is always dangerous. Behind him is Carson Wentz, who was once an MVP candidate in his own right back in 2017 before he suffered a torn ACL and watched as Nick Foles (a former K.C. backup) led his team to a title.

Wentz fell off after signing a massive extension with the Philadelphia Eagles but he’s still one of the premier backups in the league. They never want to be without Mahomes but if he’s forced to miss any time, Wentz can move the chains and keep the offense from floundering.

Kansas City will also keep someone on the practice squad but with Mahomes proving his toughness over the years, it’s unlikely they’ll need to bring them to the active roster at any point
