The Cleveland Browns are making themselves familiar with ex-Chiefs. After holding workouts with both Kadarius Toney and Irv Smith Jr., Cleveland is now pursuing beloved former QB Chris Oladokun.

After being a surprise cut for Kansas City to sign Bailey Zappe, Oladokun figured to be a big target for teams in need of depth at the position. Given how bad Deshaun Watson looked, it makes sense that the Browns are looking for reinforcements.

Player by player, it seems like Cleveland wants to imitate the two-time Super Bowl champions in any way possible.

Browns Have "Great Workout" With Former Chiefs QB Chris Oladokun

It makes a ton of sense for the Browns to bring Oladokun in. He has experience imitating Ravens QB Lamar Jackson in practice, a divisional opponent that Cleveland has to face twice this year.

The Browns suffered multiple injuries in a disastrous Week 1 loss to the Cowboys, creating space on the roster. Many around the national media are surmising that Watson could eventually suffer a "mysterious" injury that causes him to miss time, theoretically giving Oladokun an opportunity down the line. Since Watson's contract is fully guaranteed, there's technically no real incentive for him to play if the season tanks.

While Oladokun hasn't appeared in an NFL game, he has multiple years of experience in the Chiefs' system and impressed during limited action in the preseason. He's a quality option, especially given how dire things look for the Browns right now.

Based on Aaron Wilson's report, it sounds like Cleveland was impressed. We could soon see Oladokun reunite with Kadarius Toney, and perhaps he'll even be on the sidelines when the Browns host the Chiefs on December 15.
