Andy Reid Provides Major Chiefs Injury Update After Thursday Night Win
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs got excellent injury news in the aftermath of Thursday night's incredible 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens to kick off the 2024-25 season.
Head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media following the contest and noted there were no injuries to report. Everyone in Kansas City's locker room made it through the matchup healthy, representing a massive victory on top of the 1-0 mark on the record.
If the Chiefs can make it through the year without any major injury, it's hard to imagine this team not winning a third consecutive Super Bowl.
Chiefs Did Not Suffer Any Injuries During Win Over Ravens
Injuries were a frequent issue throughout training camp and the preseason. Several defensive starters missed time, including Justin Reid, Chris Jones, Nick Bolton, and Jaylen Watson.
On the offensive side of the ball, veteran speedster Marquise "Hollywood" Brown is still nursing the shoulder injury he suffered in the first preseason game. Given the way first-round rookie Xavier Worthy burned the Ravens' defense en route to two scores, it's fun to imagine what the offense will look like once Brown is on the field.
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire will miss at least the first four games of the season as he deals with PTSD symptoms. He's on the reserve/non-football injury list and the organization is committed to helping him in any way possible. DE Charles Omenihu is also out, still rehabbing from the torn ACL he suffered in the 2023 playoffs.
Aside from the aforementioned players, the Chiefs are relatively healthy. That's a great spot to be in, especially for a team trying to become the first in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
